地下鉄の駅から出ると空から
北斗百烈拳のような雨が降っていた。
慌てて傘を取り出しさすと
ダッダッダッダッダッダッダッダ
という１６ビートを刻む
照りつける昼間の太陽の熱を吸い込んだ
アスファルトが一気に冷やされる
墨で塗りつぶすように一気に色が変わってゆく。
同時にムアッとした熱気が沸き上がる。
ガムシロを入れすぎた飲み物の中を
歩くとこんな感じだろうか？
肌に甘ったるい空気がまとわりつく。
「本格的に夏だな・・・」とちょっと憂鬱な気持ちになる。
最近は「今年も残り半分か・・・」とネガティブな
気持ちになることが多い。
昔は夏＝ワクワク
の図式だったが、歳かなぁ。
雨に濡れて重くなったデニムの裾を見ながら
歩いていると１７歳の夏の思い出が急に蘇ってきた・・・
当時、ケンタッキー州の住んでいた落合家には
毎年夏になると親戚の誰かが遊びに来ていた。
その年はボクや弟と最も近しい間柄の従兄弟がやってきた。
ゴルフをやったり、ボーリングをしたり、テニスをしたり・・・
そのテニスの帰り道、ボクはとんでもないことを思いつく。
ハンドルを握るのも熱いほど完全サウナ化した車内。
半日ほど炎天下の駐車場に止めてあった車だ。
普通ならば窓を全開、もしくはエアコンをガンガンに効かせて
落ち着いてから走り出すだろう。
しかし、この日のドライバーは不運なことに
思いついたら即行動を取る・・・それで何度も失敗している男だった。
「なぁ、この熱い車内を我慢して帰らない？」
一同「えっ？」
「そしたら、メチャ暑い外の気温も涼しくなると思うんだよね！！」
完全にアホだ。１７歳といえばほぼ立派な大人だ。
そんな過酷で誰も得をしない思いつきに反対するものは居なかった。
なぜなら、完全車社会のアメリカではドライバーの意見は絶対だからだ。
飲み会の「王様ゲーム」の王様並に絶対権力を持つ。
ドライバーだぁれだ？？
ボク！オチケン！！！（まぁその頃はオチケンなんて呼ばれてないが）
さぁ車内気温４０℃超え灼熱地獄ドライブの始まりだ。
走り始めて５分、弟（シュンスケ）が「ハァハァ」言い始めた。
ちっ！弱いヤツだ。
↑９１年・・・弟は中学一年かな。スゴイ髪型だ。
まことちゃんみたい。まぁオレの眉も凄いけど・・・
従兄弟達を見ると弟と同じ年のショウちゃんは
涼しい顔をしているのに・・・ん？ただ単に顔が和風で涼しげに見えるだけ？
目がうつろだ・・・
一つ年下の従兄弟、アッちゃんは・・・舌をだしている。
今にも死にそうな老犬のようだ。
というボクも運転をしていて朦朧としている。
何度も手がエアコンスイッチに伸びる。
尋常じゃないほどの汗が顎から首筋へと伝う。
１５分後、目的地のコンビニへ着く。
一斉にドアを飛び出し、外へ出る。
「す、涼しい〜〜〜！！」
砂漠のように乾ききったノドを潤すために
飲み物を買いに店内へ。
「さ、寒い！！」
歯をガチガチ鳴らしながら飲み物を買った。
今までのどんな飲み物よりも美味しかった。
そして、この体験をしたアッちゃんは
今日誕生日。この出来事を彼は
覚えているだろうか・・・・
出来れば忘れていて欲しい。
う〜んお互いベルトの位置が高いね〜〜。
恥ずかしいねぇ〜〜〜。

オレ全身白だし。ゲートボールの審判ファッションだねw

よくわかりませんが、
あ、９１ ７ ２８ からそう思ったかもしれないな、
そんな「気配」感じられました。
夏の思い出はいろいろですねー
そういう考え方って、若者にありがちなカンジ！！でもそういうバカっぽいことが、若い頃って楽しいんですよね！？
私も会社に車で１５分くらいの距離なのに、エアコンつけないでいったら、体が非常事態だと認識したらしく、人生でこんなに汗かいたことないよ！！ってくらい、ありえない量の汗が顔から滴り出ました・・・。
暑いと、脳だけはやられちゃいかん！と体は思うみたいですね。
だから、汗をだす。
きっと弟のシュンスケさんと従兄弟のアッちゃんは、脳から非常事態の指令が下ったのでしょう・・・あ、もちろんおちけんさんも。
いやー、ズボンにシャツin、そして眉毛の太さ・・・
